Current Yahoo! Messenger Versions
When it comes to Instant Messaging Yahoo! Messenger
is without doubt one of the big 4 (along with MSN Messenger, AIM, ICQ),
if you don't use it personally you've no doubt heard of it, or seen it
or their smileys. Up until the recent smiley revamp with the release of version 7 Yahoo! had some of the best smileys available, they still do I guess, all 87 of them... I guess I just don't like change, but why mess with perfection.. that aside... Yahoo! Messenger for Windows is up there rocking with some pretty cool features (the Mac version is sadly lacking, despite what their Mac page implies), with the latest Windows version
we get Yahoo! Games, LAUNCHcast Radio, Photo Sharing, Audibles,
IMVironments and Emoticons/Smileys, to name just a few and there's also
handy fluff-less features like Webcam, Conference, Voice, File Transfer
and Stealth Settings.
Despite the oodles of features available Yahoo! Messenger
is extremely user friendly, it has a bright cheery interface, it's dead
easy to navigate around and the best part is that traditionally Yahoo!
has a super friendly community of users that you can count on to chip
in and lend a hand and any given time, if you'd like to meet some of
them then swing by our forum :) As with most of IM services currently available you do need to be over 13 years old to have a Yahoo! Account, but all is not lost if your under 13 as Yahoo! provides a Family Account so that parents/guardians can create an account then add the children to it.
